All the Components of a Solar Pump System
In this blog post, we will break down all the essential components of a DC solar pump installation and explain their functions to help you understand how these systems work.
Almost all DC water pumps can be powered by solar panels. But to be honest, solar panel power supply is not a good choice for most DC water pumps. The output voltage directly provided by the solar panel fluctuates wildly. As mentioned above, it will reduce the pump's stability and lifespan.
At the heart of any DC solar pump installation is the pump. This is the main component responsible for moving water from the source, such as a well or borehole, to the surface or a storage tank.
Since DC systems tend to have overall higher efficiency levels than AC pumps of a similar size, the costs are reduced, as smaller solar panels can be used. Finally, if an AC solar pump is used, an inverter is necessary to change the DC power from the solar panels into AC for the pump.
Purchase solar water pumps with dedicated design circuits. AC water pump uses 50Hz/60Hz low-frequency AC power directly from the national grid, so its RPM is slow. The size and power consumption of the AC water pump with the same head are 5~10 times that of the DC water pump.
