In the report, the communication and control system architecture models to enable distributed solar PV to be integrated into the future smart grid environment were reviewed. Figure 1 shows typical power line communication options implemented in different solar installations. These installations can be divided into communication on DC lines (red) and communication on AC lines (blue).
The communication infrastructure in the medium-voltage and low-voltage distribution systems is usually hetero-geneous, and the suitable technolo-gies depend to a large extent on the local topology (large city, rural region, distances, etc.). It must therefore be specifically tailored for each customer.
